Already this decade we've had the bollywood trend, the increasing influence of asian sounds is impacting the mainstream with asian tinged tunes by Missy Elliot and Talvin Singh (Winner of the Mercury Music Prize 1999). In addition, we have the impending release of Harold And Kumar Get The Munchies - not a cultural high point i'm sure, but it's not often that a hollywood film stars a young asian man, is it? And with the continued rise of China and India's economies we're sure to see a lot more.
